Getting Started

If I had my way, I’d spend all day, everyday, on my porch with a skein of yarn in my lap, my dogs policing the backyard for squirrels, and semi-watching reruns of the best 1990-2000s era shows on my iPad.

But reality—my “real job”—and my hands…have other plans.
Rest is part of the process. So in-between stitches I thought…why not start sharing some of my yarn conquests. Though, a problem quickly surfaced - I detest social media. When it first appeared in the yonder years it was fun to make the most obnoxious MySpace page possible, and cool to see people you otherwise would have forgotten. But now it has just become a cesspool of all the worst traits of humanity. With the exception (of course) of people who make content about how to do things - shout out to the YouTube heroes!

So I decided I wanted a quiet corner of the internet, free from ads and outrage cycles, where I could post my work, my process, and, of course, pictures of my zoo (because what is a crochet project without a little dog hair woven in?). Nothing is for sale yet, so the Shop page is hidden, but that will change as soon as the IRS responds to my change of entity letter - picked the wrong one of course! In the meantime, check out the Freebies (which I disclaim are still Beta patterns, as this is my first time making them!)

But once things get rolling I intend to share many of my patterns, which are geared toward learning to read diagrams. I’ll also be making some YouTube content about how to use Adobe Illustrator to create pattern symbols and patterns themselves. If that sounds interesting, hit me up on a topic!

This little blog is my porch away from the rest of the internet—a spot where yarn and puppers can live side-by-side.

If you’re here, please enjoy a leisurely scroll through the Gallery. And be sure to check out my freebie patterns! I’ll be here between stitches.
